Average Joe Skills Clinics

A note from Grant:

The first ride will be Wednesday May 19th , we will be meeting in the education building parking lot in Riverdale at 6:30 pm.

So as not to be too long winded as we don’t even know each other yet here is some ride info in point form:

• Dress warmly the first night if it is cool out because there will be a fair bit of standing around and riding slowly
• If it is raining cats and dogs on ride nights the ride will be cancelled
• If it is just cool and windy with isolated showers or drizzle, dress appropriately and the riding will be great
• Bike helmets are mandatory
• You must be a CMBC member to join the ride, there will be someone there on the 19th to sell memberships if you don’t already have yours or you can get your CMBC membership online or at Icycle Sport
• Please ensure your mountain bike is in at least fair shape

I am thinking that our first ride together will go something like this:

    1. Introductions with a million name reminders as I am terrible with new names for awhile
    2. bike set up
    3. pre-ride bike checks
    4. spend a few minutes on clothing and protective gear
    5. basic bike tools and gear
    6. then off to a nice grassy area for our first few riding tips, maybe good riding
    position, good use of vision and braking
    7. if time permits we can go for a ride to practice our skills
