Our AGM is tomorrow!

Hey Members!

This is an invitation to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will be held at the Grey Mountain Room on November 4th, between 6:00-9:00pm! Your participation is important as we need your vote on multiple initiatives mentioned below.

There will be pizza and a cash (pop, water & juice only) bar! So please come eat our free food (served under COVID precautions, of course!)

During this evening we will… 1. Elect our board members (and recruit other volunteers!)

In addition to some returning board members, we are looking for new volunteers! As a volunteer on the board, you get to take a leadership role in things like organizing mountain bike events, fundraising for community and club projects, and trail work. You must be a CMBC Member to join the board, and the board meets one a month throughout the year. This is a working board and there are additional time commitments on top of monthly meetings.

We are currently recruiting candidates for the following positions: - President - Vice-President – Communication Director – Directors at Large

If you are interested in running for these or other board positions, and/or if you would like to learn more about being on the board, please contact info@cmbcyukon.ca

Alternatively, we always welcome “multi-tools” to the board – these are folks who aren’t officially voting board members (Directors), but who stay on our board email list and often join us at board meetings, to be the first to help out where they can, when they can.

Not able to commit to monthly board meetings? Not that in to talking to people and helping out at events (although I promise we are super fun!)? We have lots of small tasks that can allow you to volunteer for the mountain bike community from the comfort of your own home! If you have a bit of time to spare to help us keep up with things like checking emails, picking up snail mail, organizing online documents and photos, and maintaining a website, join us at our AGM or email info@cmbcyukon.ca to let us know. We appreciate any and all volunteer contributions!

2. Seek too pass one special resolution

The CMBC board will be seeking to pass one special resolution at the AGM, to waive the review of our financial statements for 2021 by a professional accountant

3. Present the Volunteer of the Year Award and the Chris McNeill Trail Steward of the Year Award

At our AGM, CMBC hands out two different awards to members who have stood out in their contributions to the club and mountain bike community over the past year. Our volunteer of the year award goes to someone who has stood out in their contributions to the club overall. The trail steward award goes to a member who has put in lots of sweat equity to building and maintain our beautiful trail network. The trail steward award is generously sponsored by Challenger Geomatics, and named in memory of a long-time member of our mountain bike community, Chris McNeill.

Do you know a CMBC Member (or several) who you think should be recognized this year for either of these awards? Send us your nominations to info@cmbcyukon.ca!

4. Review 2020 activities and finances We always do our best to get through this part as fast as possible :) This year, the AGM will be a little different because of COVID. We can only have a certain amount of people attend in-person, so we will also be LIVE streaming the AGM.

Please make sure to register by clicking "Going" on the Facebook Event if you plan to attend in-person!
